Kermit the Frog has collaborated with this iconic French brand and it’s surprisingly chic
I know Kermit the Frog doesn’t automatically come to mind when you think of your favourite style icons, even if Kermit green was all the rage last season, however this new collaboration may change your mind.
In case you weren’t familiar with Kermit (pah!), then here’s a little background info for you: he was born in a swamp and lived there surrounded by his thousands of brothers and sisters, before learning to play the banjo and heading to Hollywood. He started his own TV show and the rest, as they say, is history.
Except that not content being a successful actor and director, he decided to head to Paris to become a designer too, which brought him to the studios of iconic Parisian house Sandro.
The result is a collection that combines the chaotic spirit of the Muppet Show with the paired-back aesthetics of the Parisian fashion house.
Kermit’s portrait is knitted on wool-jersey round-neck sweaters or embroidered with multi–coloured pearls on a hoodie or a velvet backpack and photographed disguised as a bride on white cotton t-shirts.
As expected, the colour palette is bright, from frog green to electric red, with a touch of softer anthracite, sky blue and light ecru.
As for how to wear the collection, follow Sandro’s masculine/feminine guidelines. Pair oversized cardigans with vintage jeans and a 90s jackets, and finish off with the the iconic flame trainers in a multitude of electric greens.
